I’m a local artist working from my studio at Art Space Portsmouth, Hampshire in the U.K. I graduated from The University of Chichester with a B.A. and an M.A. in Fine Art. My practice usually involves painting, drawing and photography. I was artist in residence at Portsmouth cathedral and have exhibited throughout the region.

I think about our place in the world and the notions of time and thought. I make work in response to this thought. I find that creating visually helps me to unpick the various ideas. I also consider the associated language.

My work is largely experimental. In my studio I explore a theme, making sets of work which are pinned to the wall for perusal. During this process I pare down images...discarding individual pieces...whole sets...until the project becomes more refined. I am interested in how the marks are suggestive and resonate with the viewers in different ways. I only tell parts of the story.

I am also interested in quiet, hidden places that exist side by side with our world....I use photography as a means to snatch a moment of time there.
