Franky Blues North Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Franky Blues is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Portugal but currently residing in North Yorkshire, England. Franky's works aim to explore the innermost self and its place in contemporary society. Each creation is constructed by contrasting macabre themes with bright colours and natural elements, giving each piece an uncanny yet spiritually calm quality.
My practice illustrates and explores sociopolitical issues and the innermost self. It explores philosophical, psychological and ethical questions from a modern perspective and delves into themes of queerness, identity and culture. I explore the subconscious by painting absurd and surrealist scenarios. I work with texture and movement. colours and interesting shapes. A lot of inspiration is born in nature and biological life.
