Since the 80’s I have been working with marks found in landscape, on the body, in our memory and the marks left by others.

……they can act as codes for us to classify and understand our world, to navigate a path and govern our behaviour.

Recent and current work includes the subject of Rare Earths and their impact on our daily lives, the chaotic and destructive nature of war and the myths of Behemoth and Leviathan.

The choice of materials are particular to each subject . Substrates include Japanese papers, found boards, ply and fabric from a collection made across 40 years. It is important for me to make and customise tools to draw, paint and print with.
