  Back to profiles

I trained as a sculptor at Kingston University and Chelsea College of Art, U.A.L. I have taught drawing at the City Lit, at Camberwell College of Art and the University of Hertfordshire and have held residencies at the Drawing Centre at Wimbledon Art College, the Geography Departments of Royal Holloway, University of London, and Exeter University, amongst others.

I have always been most interested in drawing, though I also make artists books and from time to time, textile objects. I have been interested for years in the conundrum of expressing self in relation to space and place. This has brought me to my current investigation of the metaphor of the 'self as a house' through a series of drawings. I love drawing and use it as it is so close to thought, to visual enquiry. My work tends to be in series as investigations are long enquiries, long questionings.
