I am a British sculptor working primarily in stone, exploring reduction, balance and material clarity. With a background in industrial design, my practice centres on distilling form to its essential structure, creating works that bring weight, tactility and quiet presence.
My practice centres on stone as both material and subject. Working predominantly in limestone, I carve through a process of reduction, allowing form to emerge through removal rather than addition. The work is concerned with weight, balance and the tension between solidity and void.
Informed by a background in industrial design, I approach sculpture with a sensitivity to proportion, structure and spatial dialogue. Each piece is developed in response to the inherent character of the block, its density, tonal variation and geological presence.
Light is integral to the work. Surfaces are refined to hold shadow and reflect subtle shifts across the day, activating the sculpture through its relationship to surrounding architecture. Rather than overt narrative, I am interested in creating forms that invite sustained looking and quiet contemplation.
The sculptures occupy space with restraint, seeking a balance between permanence and openness within contemporary environments.
