  Back to profiles

Kate Bajic has been creating jewellery for over 22 years’. She has experience exhibiting in the UK, Europe and the USA and has shown her work several times at prestigious events including Goldsmiths Fair and Collect Art Fair. Internationally she has exhibited twice at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York and also twice at Sierrad Art Fair in Amsterdam.

Drawing on a lifelong interest in the natural world Kate focuses on botanical forms as her main inspiration, she examines and translates aspects into her jewellery using traditional hand fabrication techniques. These include chasing intricate patterns into silver and gold, piercing complex shapes and using repousse to add volume to designs. This gentle and involved approach allows slight imperfections created during the making process to bring a richness to her jewellery. Pieces are handcrafted in sterling silver and gold and are often paired with lustrous baroque pearls or striking dendritic agate stones, their naturally occurring patterns and colours partner her designs perfectly. Jewellery evolves through experimenting with patterns, layering and composition and playing with contrasting colours and forms. Kate creates her jewellery as limited edition or one-off pieces designed to complement each other whilst still being unique and individual.
