I'm a commissioning artist taking part in events and exhibitions. As well as cards and prints, I paint larger pieces, I explore the relationship between still life and landscape by exploring the use of line within my work as if a continuous conversation weaving through my art.

'Do you remember drawing the sky as a child as a line across the top of the page? I hold that youthful moment of realisation that the sky meets the land many times as I paint.  The cherished moment of wonder and understanding through the love of art is what I most enjoy to bringing into my creative practice.

My desire is to connect with the materials, build bonds with the canvas, sit in the sunshine, or that tinkling of rain and fluttering breeze, observe and paint. Mastering my interpretation of colour and materials, understanding my connection to the subject and exploring, is my main objective. Observations and humour have encompassed themselves in my old drawings. Now I'm here tantalising ideas with brushstrokes, observing the landscape or celebrating a group of found objects in the form of a still life. I don't adhere to the rigidity of categorisation, I ebb and flow with the flux as the creative passion drives me, quietly acquainting myself with my work.'

Having studied fine art installation, I am currently painting and enjoying bringing this into my practice. I explore the relationship between indoor still life, outdoor landscape and the link between, by firstly taking the time to be with and connect to the subjects I paint. My work is intuitive and a mixture of realism and interpretation, like a language between me and the subject I'm painting. I am always looking for ways to develop what I do and my aim this year is to be able to build on commissions, exhibitions and and work towards building strength in my practice
