Leon Hampson studied Fine Art in Manchester and Leicester from 1984 to 1988, before attending the Royal Academy Schools from 1988 to 1991.
He began exploring the use of technology in art in 1994, while pursuing a career as a Graphic Designer, Creative Director, Information and User Experience Designer, and Digital Accessibility Specialist.
Leon returned to full-time artistic practice in 2025, seamlessly blending digital technology with traditional drawing, printmaking, and painting techniques.
His subject is primarily the places and people of his adopted home of West Yorkshire, looking at the ordinary and often overlooked aspects of his everyday environment.
