Artist with contemporary glass and craft practice based in North Yorkshire , completed an MA in Glass and Ceramics in Sunderland University developing torch skills and kiln forming glass threads Creating woven glass pieces and referring to women's relationships to textiles and Emotional Fabric exploring heritage through site specific research.

Liz O Connell is an emerging artist with Irish and Yorkshire heritage , through her research into her family’s links with textiles she creates glass fabrics and bobbins to explore the stories we weave.

Liz explores narratives about invisible labour and our connections to textiles and heritage.

As well as sculptural pieces she reappropriates weaving analogies and talks us through the stories we weave and our hidden connections and emotional selves.

I want us look at textile heritage and the psychological impact of constant giving and invisible work ..using delicate glass threads and bobbins to capture some of the emotions such as being “ threadbare” and “ losing ones thread” and to draw on and explore textile analogies and processes.
