Lorraine Marie is a contemporary abstract artist whose work is defined by playfulness, experimentation, and a love of mixing things up. She creates expressive, impasto-inspired pieces using a combination of textured mediums, palette-knife techniques, layered strokes, and intuitive mark-making. Her process is fluid and exploratory, allowing each artwork to evolve naturally.

My practice is grounded in handmade creation, guided by instinct, emotion, and a love of mixing things up. I work across abstract forms and textured techniques, constantly exploring how colour, movement, and material can interact in unexpected ways. Each piece begins with a feeling rather than a plan, allowing the work to evolve organically through layering, scraping, and shaping. I’m drawn to contrast—soft against bold, calm against energetic—and I let those tensions guide my process. No two pieces are ever the same, and I treat each artwork as a standalone expression of the moment it was created. My practice is intuitive, experimental, and deeply personal, with a focus on producing original art that carries its own unique energy and presence.
