Graduate of GSA, Textiles and interior designer, broadcast journalist for BBC WS and VOA before motherhood and teaching. Always curious, my environmental roots run deep; using collections of detritus, repurposed and recycling fabrics, I utilise my knowledge, skills and passion to visually stimulate whilst encouraging discussions and spreading awareness of current environmental issues.

Recycled, repurposed, hand dyed, I like to manipulate fabrics in combination with man-made and natural objects, I hand and machine embroider work to add mark making, the pieces sometimes escape the frame though I often work within a square, encouraging a viewer to focus on the colours and textures regardless of orientation. I hope to visually stimulate whilst, encouraging debate on different aspects of our environment and our role within in it. Paper works and photography are an integral part of my process, the marks, colours, compositions of these directly influence the textile pieces that follow. My new series: Landworks continues the conversation about our fragile planet, the dried plants or wood are stitched into the work but look as if they might fall at any time, this deliberate, to challenge the viewers perception encourage a conversation about sustainability, our place within the planet. I am currently working on an Artist project, (6 month contract) with High Weald National Landscape Partnership using a creative approach to encourage a specific community to engage with an area of ancient woodland. Following my first series New Horizons which has been exhibited in various cities and towns, including being a part of the United Nations Decade of Oceans Science for Sustainable Development ‘Under the Sea’ exhibition I now working on a ‘Second Sea’ series that will be informed and work in partnership with Sussex Bay supporting Blue Nature Recovery Projects; this work will be made and exhibited in The Space in-Between gallery. I want to make work that has a point, create conversation and debate, specifically about the health of our oceans. Additionally I have been commissioned to produce 4 large - 115cm x 85 pieces for a Haute Couture fashion show on a luxury yacht in NYC this September. Collaborating with Emperio Arageo these works will be auctioned at the end of the show - Sept 13 2025.

Palette and Palete

19/04/2025 — 24/05/2025

Celebrating food and our relationship with it, this exhibition challenged me to use my developing creative voice in for me a rather different direction. I wanted to have fun with the idea of using and of course reusing food packaging, aspects of our throw away society. I used the packaging from lovely cheese and created Fabric Fromage which...
