She studied Art & Design in Brighton, UK, where she currently lives and works as a painter and a musician.
My work is greatly inspired by nature ā its forms and processes, which I regard as metaphors for human life. Iām interested in movement and change, as some of the essentials of the natural world, as well as in its sensual qualities ā textures, light and space. Strongly linked with dance and music, my works are are being created mainly through intuitive improvisations: I follow physical and emotional impulses evoked by music and the painting process itself. My own experience of playing music and dancing let me experience the links between music/sound, movement and painting. I am led by the painting process itself and the behaviour of materials I use, following interactions between various media, letting them create surfaces which I then partly leave to be, and partly modify under the guidance of the music I listen to while I paint, of emotions and of some subconscious directions, that make the whole process a space of 'negotations' between control and letting go. Nature (natural forms, landscapes ...) is at the core. Emotions directing the painting, lead to creating sort of 'emotional landscapes', a reflection of inner states. Other elements that play a big role are experiencing the paralels between painting process, movement/dance and music - which don't act as an illustration or a translation, but are experienced simultaneously during creative process. Often during this process, I reach the point where all the senses unite into one, the sense of self disappears, allowing me to discover new worlds ā surprising yet recognizable: traces of the natural forms that impressed me deeply and imprinted themselves in my mind and body; emotional and sensual impressions.
