Visual artist for over 50 years, utilising photography, painting & writing. Studied under Victor Burgin & John Goto at the PCL. Lived in NYC for over 30 years working as a fine-art photographer. Moved back to East Yorkshire in 2017 to be reacquainted with my roots.
I use my creative practice primarily as a conversation with myself - an attempt to visually describe my personal journey through the broad spectrum of the human condition, from the desire to search for salvation and freedom through externals (women, money, fame, success) to the recognition that peace is an inner condition unaffected by circumstance. I try constantly to embrace the truth in Proust's assertion that "The real voyage of discovery lies not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes."
