An erstwhile lecturer in Higher Education, an art writer and critic, she has published,exhibited and lectured internationally on subjectivity and identity. In recent years she has focussed painting, exploring through mediums and techniques, relations of difference analagous to human and social relationships.

    I graduated from the Royal college of Art 2001. As an artist I am interested in the fugitive relationship between the sublime, the abject, and contemporary perceptions of beauty. I am interested in exploring form and material structure to expand the boundaries, physical presence , and significance of painting, and in this context its potency as a vehicle for metaphor and ideas.

    My passion is for fabric and stitch, my background in illustration, fashion and hand-embroidery.     As a studio-based painter I rely on photographic images. These are often those found on social media or then internet. As a gay man I am also interested in exploring the multiplicity of images and ideals we are presented with and redefining the idea of masculinity. My work explores narrative, colour, line, composition, and mark-making to evoke an emotion or develop the narrative within an image.
