Robyn Daly is an Irish-based fine art photographer creating long-exposure performative self-portraits in abandoned interiors. Through the interplay of light, time and movement, her photographs seek to develop a new visual language for women's lived experience, expanding photography beyond the fixed likeness.

My practice combines performance and long-exposure photography to create self-portraits that resist the conventions of fixed representation. Working within abandoned domestic interiors, I choreograph movement so that the body is not recorded as a static object but expressed as an active, lived subject.

Rather than using photography to describe appearance, I am interested in its capacity to express what it feels like to inhabit a body. Light, time and movement become the means through which relationships between body, place and experience are made visible.

My current work seeks to develop a new visual language for women's embodiment: one that moves beyond photography's historical tendency to fix, classify and objectify the female form. While rooted in photography, the work draws on performance, philosophy and feminist thought to create images that invite viewers to encounter women as self-determining subjects rather than objects of observation.
