Since retirement, I create most days. I also volunteer with Guide Dogs for the Blind, Scotland. We foster lovely pups, giving them a cosy home as they go through their training. In my painting I want to capture the beauty, energy and ruggedness of the land and and sea. With textiles....I just to go with the flow.

I paint land & sea scapes of Scotland using either acrylics, oils or fibre. I also use textiles to celebrate womanhood and our resilience and resistance to all that is annoyingly oppressive. When I'm working on landscapes, I love “being” in an open space & then trying to reproduce some of its energy through the application of paint, mark-making, colour & fibre choice. It is good for my soul to be in nature & the natural world provides unending inspiration for my work. I also love being up to my neck in odd bits of fabric, yarn and thread to see if there's a way to turn a heap of mess into a powerful image. I stitch by hand which is very soothing for the soul and gives me time to clear my head and think.
