An experimental printmaker using etching and other print making techniques. The work is concerned with the temporal transformation of discarded and forgotten objects into new printed images which emulate the landscape, becoming imaginary map like places. A new 2 or 3 dimensional narrative emerges as they form their new printed landscape

I am an experimental printmaker from Halifax, using a variety of printmaking techniques including etching on aluminum and steel. This is incorporated with other printmaking techniques such as collagraphs, monoprint and photo lithography. Increasingly, I print on hand made paper and present work in both two and three dimensions.

My work is concerned with the temporal transformation of discarded and forgotten objects into new artwork. Objects such as decaying books and texts are used to produce printed images, these develop a narrative within my work. These things held stories before they were found and their repositories of ideas, knowledge and values are both lost and changed as they evolve. Moving through the print making process they develop new representations, stories and ideas.

Layers of dialogue, meaning, history and ecology are added to a previously established narrative which takes an active part in the finished pieces. The prints become map like, map like symbols are added to the image. They are imaginary places, a new narrative emerges.

I have recently successfully completed an MA with Leeds Arts University
