I'm a visual designer based in Coventry, and an art fellow at Birmingham Open Media (BOM) 2018/2019. Born in China, grew up in Hong Kong and later educated and settled in the UK, it meant my social experience and point-of-view is always a mix of East and West - constantly observing, responding and questioning the beauties and flaws in both cultures.

As a commercial designer for the past 20 years, I work with a wide range of clients from education to insurance sectors, create websites, graphic designs and illustrations to communicate ideas and messages visually. I have been a planning group committee at the China West Midlands since 2016, building partnering relationships with Birmingham Museum, Coventry Belgrade Theatre and Confucius Institute, collaborate with these organisations to produce programmes and activities that promote cross-cultural experiences. In my fellowship with BOM, through research and interviews, I explores identities of women in Chinese takeaways. I'm currently developing a body of work in response to my investigation, using handlettering in different forms.
