ACEarts OPEN 22. Artists and makers are invited to submit a maximum of 3 works for selection, to be hung in a professionally curated exhibition at ACEarts in May 2022, showcasing the diversity of art and contemporary craft. The exhibition will run from 21 May - 25 June 2022. The major prize winner will be offered a solo show at ACEarts in 2023. DEADLINE for submissions is midnight 29 April.

We are delighted to offer the opportunity to take part in a professionally curated exhibition at ACEarts (ACE). An independent panel, led by Gallerist Geoffrey Bertram will select from the submitted works, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, but excluding photography.

Artists are invited to submit a maximum of 3 works for £20 per work.

Before you complete and submit your application, you should pay the £20 fee per work by credit or debit card into our PayPal account, using the email address: aceartssomerset@icloud.com.  

You DO NOT need to have your own PayPal account. Click on the ‘Pay Now’ button above to go to the PayPal login panel and choose 'Pay with Debit or Credit Card'.  *When you have received the transaction confirmation email from PayPal, you should make a note of the Transaction ID; you will be asked for this when completing the application submission form.

Successful applicants will be notified of selection by 6 May.

All works must be for sale and are subject to a 45% commission.

Submitted images should be no more than 1 mb in size. Please title your images (first name_last name_ number 1-3.jpg) eg: Nina-Lewis_1.jpg

Entry guidelines

This OPEN exhibition is open to artists and makers aged 18 and over on the day of submission. All selected works must be delivered to the gallery between 10-4pm on Monday 16th May (or by separate arrangement). All works must be clearly labelled with you name, title of the piece, and price.

When you deliver the work(s) you will be asked to sign our T&C's and complete a stock form.

The exhibition runs from 21 May - 25 June

Work must be collected Tuesday 28th June 10am - 4pm (or by separate arrangement)

Entries are accepted in the form of painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, we cannot accept photography, digital, installation or reproduction prints of works. Entries will only be accepted once the full submission fee has been paid.

2D max size 1m x 1m. Works must be framed, tablet canvas, mounted on board all with D-rings for hanging.

3D max size D50 cm x W 70 cm x H 100cm.

Works deposited at the gallery must be unwrapped by the artists and the wrapping taken away with them.

Sale of work: ACEarts takes a 45% commission.

MARKETING

ACE will produce any PR it deems appropriate, copyright remains with the artist, by submitting works you agree for ACEarts to use that image for promotional purposes.

ACE agrees to promote the exhibition within its programme of events via the website, e-news, social media, local press and other relevant sites.

A 45% commission applies to all sales.

ACE will not share entrants' personal information with third parties.

Any submission which ACEarts considers to be inappropriate, or cause offence (at the discretion of the curator) will not be accepted. The panels selection is final. The submission fee is non-refundable.

Collection of unsold works:

ACE will not arrange your courier. ACE will dispose of any artworks not collected within 2 weeks of the exhibition closing.

Transport and delivery of artworks and any associated costs are the responsibility of the artist.

Insurance

Work selected will be insured by ACE for the duration of the exhibition. Whilst every care will be taken in the housing and handling of work, no responsibility will be accepted by ACE for any damage that might occur. Artists should insure their work for the period of transit.

ACE reserves the right not to hang all selected works whether this is due to lack of space or any other factor which may affect the overall nature of the exhibition. The decision of the Curator is final. ACE cannot enter into any correspondence or discussion over the decisions made by the Curator.

Photographs taken of work during the exhibition may be used in promotional material to advertise the gallery, exhibition and work of ACE.

Does the location have disabled access?
The ground floor of our building is easily accessible for those with limited mobility or wheelchairs. We have wide aisles throughout the ground floor, an accessible toilet and a stair lift to the first floor exhibition space.
