We are looking for paintings of or featuring animals to feature in our 4th online/virtual exhibition. 

The Animal Artspace is an online space dedicated to showcasing contemporary animal art through virtual exhibitions and an artist directory.

The space aims to celebrate the variety and abundance of animal art being created today, by artists at all levels and stages of their creative careers, working in any style.

We are looking for artwork to feature in our 4th online/virtual exhibition: DRAWING

Exhibition details:

Location: Online - VR Exhibition via Artsteps, our website and Instagram/Facebook

Exhibition Dates:
mid-April to mid June (exact dates TBC)

What we are looking for:

  • Medium: artwork must be entirely or mostly created in a drawing material (pencil, pastel, pen, ink, charcoal, colour pencil, digital drawing etc)
  • Style: any style can be submitted (realistic, impressionist, abstract etc)
  • Subject: paintings must include an animal - this can be any animal, and they don’t have to be the main focus of the painting
  • Images of work: your work should be photographed in good lighting, un-edited, un-framed and cropped to the edges of the artwork
  • Number of submissions: up to 3 per artist (please complete a separate form for each artwork)
  • Artwork generated by AI will NOT be accepted
  • Deadline for submissions: 23rd March 2026


Fees:

  • Submission fee: FREE
  • Participation fee:  £5 per selected piece - you only need to pay this fee if your work is selected for the exhibition. We aim to keep participation costs as low as possible, so if you only want to pay £5, just submit one piece, if you are happy to pay £10 or £15 you can choose to submit 2 or 3 pieces - the number of included pieces will be confirmed on selection
  • Commission: NO COMMISSION TAKEN - artwork can be listed for sale, prospective buyers will be directed to the artist for sales enquiries.


What does the participation fee cover?

  • Up to 3 pieces of work included in the exhibition - please use a separate form for each artwork
  • Design and set up of a virtual reality exhibition hosted via Artsteps - our previous exhibitions can be viewed here: https://www.artsteps.com/profile/67bde8977acc4661e21dff1c (We average around 200-300 views per exhibition on Artsteps)
  • Set up of image gallery on our website: https://theanimalartspace.com/
  • Promotional material design and marketing via Instagram 
  • An individual artist profile post on instagram during the exhibition - see examples on our Instagram account here: https://www.instagram.com/the.animal.artspace/ (we average around 10,000 views per exhibition on Instagram)

How much does it cost?
It is free to enter.

There is a £5 participation fee per selected piece, therefore if you have:

1 piece in the exhibition = £5
2 pieces in the exhibition = £10
3 pieces in the exhibition = £15
What publicity will be provided as part of the opportunity?
Promotion via social media, our website and the Artsteps virtual gallery platform.
What happens if my proposal is chosen?
You will be contacted after the submission deadline if your artwork is chosen, with a payment link and deadline to secure your place in the exhibition.
