Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival (WCAF) will commision an artist or artists' group to create a new digital work to be displayed in an empty retail unit in Warrington Town centre during the summer (dates TBC)

Proposals are invited from emerging and established artists whose work demonstrates a strong track-record of public engagement, interactivity and contemporary practice.

Artists submitting proposals must challenge the notions of traditional forms of collecting, archiving and presenting work.

Proposals will need to factor in outreach and engagement strategies to demonstrate how their work will engage with one of Warrington’s neighbourhoods.

The theme of this edition of WCAF is ‘The History of the Future’.

The work will be displayed in an empty retail unit in Warrington town centre, attracting significant footfall. The unit will not be invigilated, and it is anticipated that the work will be back projected onto the shop window, to be viewed from outside the unit. A screen and projector(s) will be provided by WCAF.
