Ongoing opportunity to make artwork to exhibit in the beautiful nature of Rhodes, meet other artists and visitors from around the world. The non-Profit Artpark and Gallery in rural Rhodes are looking for Artists in Residence for two weeks or more between the months of April - November every year; No cost to artists, private room and studio included, with the chance to exhibit work in the park or gallery for free.
This is a non-profit organisation based in Rhodes Island, Greece, in a forestry, mountainous and tranquil area of the island. There is a large park surrounded by a beautiful landscape and outdoor space to create artwork, with a specific focus on sculpture. There will also be the opportunity to exhibit work throughout the touristic season (mid April - mid November), within in the park and the specially built outdoor alcoves, as well the large indoor gallery space.
Other facilities include a private room attached to the gallery with a double sized bed, wardrobe, TV, toilet, washbasin and shower. In a separate building, there is a small kitchen to prepare food, indoor and outdoor studio space. The closest village with a mini-market and restaurant is a 15-minute walk.
There are a number of facilities for sculpting such as welding tools, woodcutting tools and basic materials provided. Other materials can be provided upon further discussion.
All accomodation and facilities are provided free of charge, artists just need to pay for their own travel and subsistence.
This opportunity is aimed at emerging artists aged 21-35 in early to mid stages of their career. We would also be willing to consider submissions from other applicants.
