Blaise Wool Festival 2026 - an annual celebration of Bradford's wool industry and heritage, held at Bradford Industrial Museum. Featuring stalls of local traders selling selling wool and textile based products, craft workshops, music, talks and demonstrations.

Named for the patron saint of wool combers - Bishop Blaise - Blaise Wool Festival is an annual celebration of Bradford's wool industry and heritage, held at Bradford Industrial Museum.

This year, the festival will take place on Sunday, 1st February 2026.

Featuring:

  • stalls of local traders selling wool and textile-based products,
  • craft workshops,
  • music from Hallroyd Brass Band and Bradford Voices Choir,
  • talks and demonstrations from local institutions with links to the wool industry in Bradford
  • Food and drink


The event will be open to the public from 10 am until 4 pm.

Successful applicants will receive a letter of confirmation of their stall by Friday, 9th January 2026.

All payments should then be made by Friday, 16th January 2026 (please do not send any form of payment until it has been confirmed that you have been allocated a stall). 

If payment is not received by 16th January 2026 the stall will be given to the next person on the waiting list.

At such a busy event, it is important that everyone works together to ensure that the event is safe and accessible to all.

Therefore, the following terms and conditions must be adhered to by stallholders:

ALL STALLHOLDERS:

  • If you are successful in securing a stall booking and payment is not received by 16th January 2026 the stall will be given to the next person on the waiting list.
  • Allocation and location of stalls will be at the discretion of the Museum
  • Tables must not be moved from their initial location
  • Floor areas must be kept free of goods and displays
  • The Museum Manager reserves the right to remove items that are inappropriate or in breach of current legislation
  • Due to licensing restrictions, tombolas and raffles are not allowed
  • All stallholders are asked to vacate the site no later than 5.00 pm
  • Stallholders are responsible for the insurance of goods and equipment, in the event of any loss or damage
  • In the event of cancellation by the hirer between two and one weeks prior to the event, 50% of the hire fee is payable. In the event of cancellation by the hirer within one week of the event, the full fee is payable. Notification of cancellation must be given in writing or email.


INSIDE STALLHOLDERS
:

  • One Chair will be provided with one 6’ x 2’ table
  • No extra tables, stands, or other free-standing display equipment is allowed without prior agreement 


The site will be available for stallholders to set up from 2-4 pm on Saturday, 31st January, or from 8.30 am on Sunday, 1st February, the day of the festival.

Fees:

Inside stalls and drinks vans are £50.
Catering van pitches are £70.

Who is eligible for this opportunity?
Local Businesses and stallholders selling wool and textile-based products, those with strong links to Bradford's rich wool industry and heritage. Consideration will be given to the types of goods sold to ensure a balance of stalls throughout the market

What are the opening hours?
11 am - 4 pm for the public.
Traders will be able to access the site to begin set up from 2 -4 pm on Saturday, 31st January, or from 8.30 am on the day of the event, Sunday, 1st February.
Does the location have disabled access?
Yes, the main building has level access and disabled parking. There are accessible toilets, lifts to all floors, and there is a Changing Places Toilet on site. Please be aware that the outside areas do feature somewhat uneven, cobbled streets.
What publicity will be provided as part of the opportunity?
The event will be featured on Bradford Museums & Galleries' website and social media, mentioned on the "Behind the scenes at the museum" radio show on local radio BCB Radio, and will be promoted via the council's communications team to local and national media.
Flyers and posters will also be printed and distributed across museum sites and other venues in the districts.

Yes.
How do you decide on applications?
Consideration is given based on their suitability of products offered matching with the theme of the festival.
What happens if my application is accepted?
Successful applicants will receive a letter of confirmation of their stall by Friday, 10th January 2025, and all payments should then be made by Friday, 17th January 2025 (please do not send any form of payment until it has been confirmed that you have been allocated a stall). If payment is not received by 17th January 2024, the stall will be given to the next person on the waiting list.
