WHO CAN SUBMIT

Artists, researchers, and writers worldwide, including professional artists and emerging young artists under 18. All work must be original. 

No AI-generated artwork is accepted.

ACCEPTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Painting: oil, acrylic, watercolour, ink, mixed media.
Sculpture: clay, metal, wood, installation (submit high-quality photographs).
Digital art: illustrations and 3D renders.
Art research: critical essays, historical or theoretical analyses.
Art education: teaching methodologies, curriculum reflections, pedagogical studies.

SELECTED CONTRIBUTORS

Selected work will be published in the print and digital editions of Art Horizons. 

Contributors receive a free digital portfolio kit: a flipbook and printable PDF layout of the published spread. 

Publication provides professional documentation for CVs, grant applications, residency proposals, exhibition dossiers, and academic or curatorial submissions. 

Featured artists may be considered for future interviews, feature articles, and curatorial collaborations.

PUBLICATION, ACCESS AND READERSHIP

Art Horizons publishes approximately 3–4 issues per year in both digital and print formats. The digital edition is freely accessible, while the print edition is available for purchase via Amazon.

The digital edition reaches an international audience and typically generates hundreds to thousands of views per issue through direct access, social media sharing, and artist networks. These figures describe views, rather than downloads.

Our readership includes artists, collectors, curators, art educators, and enthusiasts from the United States, Europe, and Asia, with a growing global reach. 

Readers are generally adults, ranging from early-career artists to established professionals, with strong interests in contemporary art, exhibitions, and cross-cultural dialogue. 

The platform has also facilitated connections between artists and collectors, with some featured artists making sales after being discovered through the magazine. Sales are not guaranteed.

ARTWORK SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Submit up to 5 works as high-quality JPEGs, at least 1500 pixels on the longest side and no more than 4 MB per image. Include title, medium, dimensions in cm (H × W, or H × W × D for 3D works), and year of creation. 

File naming format: FirstName LastName · Medium · Title · Size (cm) · Year.

Include a short artist biography (maximum 200 words). An artist statement is optional (maximum 150 words).

ARTICLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Art research and education articles should be 800–3500 words in DOC or DOCX format. Include article title, author name, a short biography (maximum 150 words), and citations in APA 7 style. Related images must have captions identifying the artist, artwork title, medium, dimensions, and year.

LANGUAGE

Submissions may be in English or English–Chinese bilingual format. Selected content may be translated for bilingual presentation.

ABOUT THE ORGANISER

Art Horizons is led by Editor-in-Chief Junrui Garcia, who holds a PhD in Education and has experience as an art educator, curator of exhibitions, and published author and researcher in art and education. 

Before Art Horizons, Junrui sponsored and led Chinese Art Excellence Collection, and has experience organising and publishing international artist features and open calls. 

The magazine is supported by an international editorial and advisory team of artists, professors, and researchers.
