If you have an opinion and support female rights then guess what, you're a Nasty Woman. Everyone is welcome to submit art work no matter age, race, religion, nationality, LGBTQI status. We want to hear from you. We are holding an exhibition 22nd - 24th Sept 2017 at Stour Space, Hackney Wick, London. It will be accompanied by comedy, music and discussion panels. The art will be sold with money raised going to the charity End Violence Against Women.

Nasty Women is a global art movement designed to empower women and raise the female voice. It was started by a group of female American artists in response to Donald Trump’s sexist comments during the US Presidential race. In light of the growing misogyny and intolerance in the UK we are standing up in solidarity with our sisters to fight against threats to women’s rights.

The event will provide an outlet for expressing opinions about issues that affect us. We've witnessed bosses forcing female staff to wear high heels to work, the “Legs-it” tabloid headline following Brexit talks between Theresa May and Nicola Sturgeon, and death and rape threats being made against a campaigner who fought for Jane Austen to be on the £10 note. Now with our government partnering with the anti-abortion, anti-LGBTQ DUP we are all at risk of losing hard won rights.

Nasty Women art exhibitions across the globe have so far raised more than $180,000 for women's rights and social services. Our funds will go to End Violence Against Women. EVAW is a leading coalition of specialist women’s support services, researchers, activists, survivors and NGOs working to end violence against women and girls in all its forms.
