Looking for student and aspiring artists and art historians/critics to submit works to be published in the inaugural fall/winter edition of VŨV:Noon Magazine

VŨV Magazine is looking for student and emerging artists, art historians, critics, and writers to submit work for publication in its inaugural Fall/Winter edition.

VŨV is a new independent arts and culture magazine founded and edited by Filipa Lazarova and Ian Ziegler, two Art History students entering their fourth year at the University of St Andrews.

St Andrews is one of the oldest universities in the United Kingdom and is consistently highly ranked internationally for the study of Art History.

The magazine was created as a platform for emerging artistic and critical voices, bringing together visual art, art writing, criticism, and interdisciplinary cultural commentary.

For its inaugural issue, VŨV is particularly interested in work by students and early-career artists and writers.

The magazine will be published both digitally and in print.

The first issue is currently planned for late 2026, although publication may take place in early 2027.

As this is the inaugural edition, the final print run is still being determined.

VŨV will be promoted primarily through Instagram, its digital platforms, and events within the St Andrews and wider student arts community.

Further promotional collaborations and events are also planned as the project develops.

Submissions will be selected by the editors based on the quality and originality of the work, strength of artistic or critical perspective, and its suitability for the editorial direction of the issue.

We welcome a broad range of approaches and do not expect contributors to have an established professional practice.

Artists submitting visual work should include a short description of the work and an artist biography.

Writers may submit criticism, essays, reviews, or other art-related writing.

Selected contributors will receive full publication credit and a dedicated spotlight through VŨV’s digital and social media platforms.

Contributors whose work appears in the print edition will also be recognised as featured contributors to the inaugural issue.
