Report this?

Call for creative work to be featured in our upcoming zine. We invite work that explores food in motion - its migrations, transformations, and the stories it carries across borders.

tempZine is a bilingual publication in English and Chinese, exploring shifting conditions of contemporary life.

Founded by three friends and curators across the UK and China, their practice use zine-making to build inclusive publishing spaces where stories converge across borders, celebrating the temporary nature of lived experience.

We welcome creative works in any form to be featured in our first issue: "Misreadings of the Tongue".

Food migrates and transforms. In mistranslations, improvisations, and failed recreations of home, "authenticity" falls apart - and something new emerges. These slips reveal something closer to lived truth than any claim to purity.

This call invites explorations of food as anchor and flux: how it grounds bodies and memories through displacement, travel, and return, revealing lived experience beyond any single origin story.

Submission Deadline:  3rd March 2026 at 11 pm

Successful submissions will be contacted via email within 1-2 weeks.

All selected artists will be fully credited.

As a newly founded, independently-run publication, we're unable to offer payment for contributions to this first issue. As we grow, our aim is to offer payment to artists in subsequent issues.
