Fronteer Gallery are looking for square shaped small artworks for their exhibition Squares.

Fronteer Gallery are looking for small, square-shaped artworks for our exhibition Squares.

There is no theme for the exhibition, other than the work should be a square.

This could be as simple as a square canvas or board, and the work or image can be anything you like. Work can be in any medium, except film or audio.

Works should be 25cm x 25cm or less, including any frames and mounts if applicable.

We welcome 3-d and sculptural work which should fit on a 30x30cm plinth, and should not exceed 25cm height x 25cm x 25cm.

Work can be framed or unframed. Unframed work should be suitable to be hung using Command Strips.

Artists are invited to submit up to 3 pieces of work for the exhibition.

Please complete a separate form for each submission. You may provide a short description of no more than 100 words, but this will not be displayed alongside the work.

UK based artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit. It is free to apply with only successful artists paying a fee of £28 fee for each piece of work selected.

The exhibition will run from 24th March - 9th April 2026.

There will be an opening event on Saturday 21st March 4-6 pm.

Please note, the gallery is upstairs and there is no disabled access.

In return for your fee, you will get a private view evening with free drinks which you are welcome to bring friends and family along to, invigilation throughout, and promotion of the exhibition online through social media posts.

The submission deadline is 21st February 2026.

Successful artists will be contacted by 23rd February 2026.

Successful artists are welcome to send their work by post.

Work sent by post should reach us by 12th March 2026 at the latest.

Artists are also welcome to deliver work in person to the gallery during gallery opening hours between 24th February- 12th March. If you have any issues with these dates please contact us before applying as we may be able to help.

Successful artists should pay their hanging fee by 12th March 2026.

Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 10%.

Work can be collected from the gallery between 28th April - 14th May 2026 during gallery opening hours.

If you would like your work returning to you by post please be aware that we charge a fee which includes a £4 handling fee and the cost of Tracked 48 (no signature required) postage.

Larger parcels can be returned through Parcelforce and will be sent Express 48. Couriers cannot collect your work from the gallery and we do not print postage labels.

All work must be complete at the time of submission. Any work which varies from the original piece or size (size includes framed size of the work if applicable) submitted may be rejected.

If you wish to submit any form of print, it will be your responsibility to print it off and prepare it for exhibition before delivering it to us.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Thank you and good luck!
