Candid crit group: Online/London
Deadline: 01/11/2023 | City: Online and in person in London | Tabby Gammer
Group critiques around the topic of the candid. Looking for people to join my crit group, Candid, for artists whose practices involve candid imagery.
There isn't a single book or article on the candid as a theme/idea in visual culture. Together we will explore the aesthetics of figuration, specifically the use of 'raw' material in contemporary art, building connections and collaborating to create an audience for the touching, sometimes provocative, work being produced from this field of interest. If you're interested in art, ethics and social realities then please get in touch via the form. All media and experimental practices welcome!
Everyone can bring work to share and get feedback on, or just listen and be part of the discussion. Crits will be every other week and alternate between online and in-person crits in London. Hoping to organise a group exhibition in the future.
