Call for applications for 8 Studio Residencies. 3-12 Month Opportunities.

Providing an inspiring environment for artists off all mediums and backgrounds to expand their practise, network, career opportunities and ideas.

Built on the bank of the River Lee canal, this iconic location on Fish Island faces the Olympic Park and will provide not only an exhibition space for contemporary artists and curators, but a fantastic setting for eight free, beautiful studio residency spaces. A completely philanthropic project, the space is entirely focused on nurturing and supporting individual and collective artists in the Hackney Wick art community.

Working to support artists in their creative process to fulfil their artistic potential, Anderson Studios and Gallery at Carpenter’s Wharf will be selecting from national and international applications and portfolio submissions; eight artists to work in the Fish Island studios for open call residencies, and additionally invite applications for the position of Gallery Curator annually.

Built by the visionary Anderson Foundation, the art gallery and studio residency at Carpenter’s Wharf is an inspiring project dedicated to supporting how artists flourish in today’s society. Not only by providing clean light and spacious studios to work in, but mentorship programs, access to new networks of artists and a final exhibition showcase at the end of the residency sets this new art project apart from the rest.

With construction only just complete, over the coming months we shall witness how the already artistic scene of Hackney Wick expands to welcome a new wave of talent; and the destination point of the Anderson Studios and Gallery will bring a new dimension of the avant-garde to the rapidly changing face of East London.

Residency and exhibition submissions welcome all artists. Encompassing all aspects of figurative, abstract and contemporary mediums of art practise, to have the chance to work with an exciting and unique Gallery, whose ambition is to help artists thrive in their creative potential.
