East Street Arts and Lou Gilmore-George artist are collaborating to give you the chance, as an artist, to work and exhibit alongside other artists and mediums that you may not have encountered before. The theme is open, the aim is to bring artists together; to open minds and provoke inspiration.

Lou Gilmore George Artist and East Street Arts are coming together for a second time to create an abundance of artwork from fellow artists, locally, nationally and internationally.

Using the temporary space of the former 'New Look' clothes store in the Hillstreet shopping centre in Middlesbrough, Teeside (North East).

The venue is a large space with huge footfall and a fabulously large, forefront window.

The aim of the exhibition is to bring artists together to inspire each other. From sculpture to sound, to performance art and painters. The space is large and the aim is to fill it with a mix of artwork, and artists, for 2 weeks in November.

This is your chance as an artist to work and exhibit alongside other artists and mediums that you may not have encountered before.

The theme is open, the aim is to bring artists together to open minds and provoke inspiration.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 19th October and all work needs to have been recieved by 1st November.

The exhibition will run for 2 weeks starting the 12th November and will run through to 25th November. An opening night is planned for the evening of 10th November.

There is a fee of £50 per artist which covers rental of the space, the curators and invigilators time, marketing and promotional materials, and refreshments for the opening evening.

There is a separate call out for 17 artists to occupy the former changing room cubicles, transforming them into 'mini galleries'.

We are also looking for artists to run workshops within the space. Workshop artists will need to pay the £50 acceptance fee, per workshop however, you can charge for the workshops via Eventbrite or a similar platform.

No commission is taken from any sales. Sales are strictly via the artist due to licensing laws.

Due to the venue being a pop up temporary space, insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Public liability insurance is sufficient.

Temporary venues are great for exhibiting within a budget yet having a  prime location. The premises are however 'take as you find' so please keep this in mind when submitting
