CasildART invites curators to submit proposals for an upcoming exhibition titled “Duo & Dualities.”
This show will explore the theme of duality through the work of two artists of African and/or Caribbean heritage.
We are seeking imaginative and innovative interpretations of duality - whether expressed through aesthetics, form, identity, or culture.
Proposals should thoughtfully explore the complexities, tensions, and harmonies that arise from dual perspectives: tradition vs. modernity heritage vs. innovation, individual vs. collective, and more.
We’re particularly interested in curators who:
● Engage critically and creatively with African and Caribbean cultural narratives
● Bring fresh insight into contemporary global conversations around identity and duality
● Demonstrate a nuanced understanding of the historical, social, and artistic contexts of African and Caribbean communities
● Can curate an exhibition that is visually compelling, intellectually rich, and culturally relevant.
This is a chance to present a powerful dialogue between two artists whose practices reflect layered, interwoven identities and perspectives.
Who can apply:
● Curators with a strong grasp of African and Caribbean cultural heritage and traditions.
● Those with knowledge of contemporary conversations about identity, migration, diaspora, and the concept of dualities in art.
● Curators with a vision for creating dynamic exhibitions that explore the complexities and beauty of dual cultural narratives.
To apply:
Submit your proposal outlining the curatorial concept, artist suggestions and how your interpretation connects to the theme.
This is a selling event, so please bear this in mind when thinking about the selection of artists.
