• Artworks must be A3 or square size 30x30cm (or cropped to those sizes).
• You can send a low res version for the Open Call but if are selected you must have the artwork with quality enough to be printed A3 or square 30 x 30 cm.

2. AN INTERESTING STORY ABOUT THE ARTWORK

• The text must have max. 120 words.
• The story can be the creation process, an inspiration, a funny anecdote, a secret, a memory, or anything interesting that the artist would like to share.
• Colloquial/conversational language is preferred over ‘art talk’ or ‘art statements’.

3. A VIDEO TO ILLUSTRATE THE STORY

• The video cannot be longer than 40s seconds.
• It can be a time-lapse of the creation, a making of, an animation, a view of the artist’s studio, an old recording, or even royalty free stock videos. If you are using royalty free stock video, you can send it with more than 40s and we will edit it. 
• Your video can have ambient sounds, music or no sound at all, but please NO human voices. Because we will add to the video your story as a voice over in Portuguese.
• If your artwork is horizontal or square, it is better to submit an horizontal video. But if your artwork is vertical, it is better to submit a vertical video.
• For this Open Call the video must be uploaded online (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Vimeo, etc) and the link sent for revision. If your artwork is selected for the exhibition, the artist must send the high resolution video via WeTransfer. If you are using royalty free stock videos, just send the link for the footage.

During the exhibition, each artwork will be programmed with augmented reality (AR). The visitors will be able to scan the artwork with their phones and your video and story will pop up inside the frame. Check the video above.

ONLY DIGITAL FORMAT ARTWORKS will be accepted from artists outside Brazil, in order to avoid problems with artwork shipping, customs, etc. Meaning that paintings, illustrations, mix-media and other formats will have to be scanned or photographed and sent to us.

We will print and frame the selected images in Brazil with the consent of the artist. Alternatively, the artist can send the print of the artwork (no frame) by mail. But they have to make sure that it arrives before Friday 20/05/2022.

Artists from all nationalities, backgrounds and of all styles are welcome to apply. Collaborations are also welcome.

FEES

FREE Submission (Max 3 images).

Only the artists who get selected for the exhibition will be asked to pay the participation fee in order to cover the expenses.

Participation fees:

• £130 for A3 size (or square 30x30cm)

*One artwork by each artist will be selected and exhibited.

PARTICIPATION FEE INCLUDES

• Exhibition space

• Curating and organizing the exhibition

• Translating the texts to Portuguese

• Recording voice-overs to the videos

• Editing the videos

• Programing the Augmented Reality Content

• Printing and framing of the artworks

• Hanging the artworks

• Digital Catalogue - Includes a short bio/artist statement, image of the artists’ works and portfolio links (part of this website)

• Print material (poster, labels, etc)

• Marketing and promotion

• Private View (refreshments, bartender, etc)

• Pictures of the artists' work in the venue to document the event

SELECTION PROCESS

All submissions will be reviewed and the works for the exhibition will be selected by the curator: Juliana Lauletta. Also, artworks can be selected before the deadline.

Please note that the decisions are final and we are unable to offer feedback.

PAYMENT METHODS

Only the selected artists will receive an invoice by email and will have 3 days after selection to pay the participation fee and secure their spot. Payments can be made though bank deposit (UK and Brazil) or PayPal (for PayPal payments there will be a 4% added cost due to PayPal fees).

SALES AND COMMISSION

No commission on sales.

Buyers can pay the artist directly by PayPal and the curator will arrange the pickup with the buyer after the exhibition is over.

RETURN OF UNSOLD WORK

For artists outside Brazil, we can ship worldwide. The shipping costs are covered by the artist.
