The Final Chapter of the Spiraling Trilogy – KAIROS • EIDOS • PATHOS After KAIROS - About Time, and EIDOS - The Shape of Those With No Shapes, we now invite artists, performers, and researchers to contribute to the closing chapter: PATHOS.

CONCEPT

Emotion surges as art’s excess, spilling beyond all symbols. It resists language, evades any system, yet it reverberates deep within the body.

It situates you, unravels you for a moment, lifting you into resonance. It attunes your perception, cultivating a way of seeing, a subtle sensitivity in how you engage with objects and space. That breath which defies logic shapes your movement, transforming you into a living conduit for emotion.

It cannot be dissolved, yet it flows as art’s most fluid expression. Through expressing and feeling it, we realize our entanglement with the world and all living beings.

The breath of collective will courses through the depths of our souls. What does the emotion we seek contain? It does not take a fixed “form,” but structures, enacts, struggles through body and mind.

Art brings us into the encounter with it. It embodies waste and core, excess and necessity. Emotion transcends words; it gathers in the space we open—PATHOS

In rhetoric, pathos is the force of emotion.

In Stoic philosophy, it is that which must be transcended to attain inner calm.

In the final chapter of our trilogy, Pathos is neither.

But becomes a playful experiment on emotion, intuition, and the sixth sense.

It is a stage where emotion becomes both medium and parody—
a site where the sixth sense unsettles the five, and where audiences may wonder whether they are experiencing the work, or being experienced by it.

WE ARE SEEKING WORKS THAT ARE:

  • Challenge conventional notions of emotion, affect, and empathy
  • Engage with the body, intuition, and invisible resonances between people and environments
  • Question the possibility of apatheia (detachment) in an age where emotions are constantly mediated, quantified, and manipulated
  • Dare to be playful, ironic, or unsettling, exposing the absurd architectures of feeling
