The Universes Poetry is a literary and arts journal dedicated to capturing the experience of awe. Alongside our magazines, we are creating a one-off anthology of art that explores artists feelings and concerns about the emergence of AI. Please note this is NOT a call for AI generated artwork, but rather artwork made by humans that reflects how they feel about the former.

The Universes Poetry is a literary and arts journal dedicated to capturing the experience of awe.

Alongside our magazines, we are creating a one-off anthology of art that explores artists feelings and concerns about the emergence of AI.

Please note this is NOT a call for AI-generated artwork, but rather artwork made by humans that reflects how they feel about the former.

Awe is an overwhelming feeling of wonder of reverence.

It can lead to a sense of self-transcendence, where individuals feel connected to something larger than themselves.

Awe is commonly inspired by nature, art, music, science, spiritual or religious experiences.

Science suggests that feelings of awe can increase humility, strengthen social bonds, activate regions of the brain associated with empathy and altruism and promote concern for the environment.

Therein lies our wider goal - to promote climate awareness.

In line with the above, we particularly value work that explores feelings of reverence towards art made by humans, or the environmental impacts of AI.

Although we are based in the UK, we publish artists and writers worldwide.

We work hard to publish emerging artists as well as established ones.

We offer Instagram showcases for artists included in our magazines and anthologies (although please note that we have only a small following, although we are growing!) and occasionally invite people to be interviewed.

We charge £4 per submission for up to  5 pieces of art.

A portion of any profits will then be divided amongst contributors who are accepted for publication.

We are unable to calculate this in advance as we do not know how many submissions we will receive, but please be aware this will likely be a token amount.

Each accepted contributor will receive publication in the issue and a free digital copy of the magazine.

We also post artist spotlights on our Instagram (collectively as a group and some individuals) to highlight your great work - please note we only have a small following of just over 300 people, although we are growing!

Occasionally, we offer an invitation to interview for some contributors.
