Guest Curator Open Call – The St. Regis Venice
Deadline: 03/09/2025City: Venice | Country: Italy | Artelier Open Call
Paid opportunity
The St. Regis Venice and Artelier are seeking a Guest Curator for the inaugural St. Regis Venice Exhibition. The opportunity is offered on a freelance basis from September 2025, with the Exhibition opening May 2026.
Start date ASAP (by end September), with the Exhibition opening in May 2026.
About the Exhibition
The St. Regis Venice and Artelier are offering a freelance opportunity for a Guest Curator for Cycle 1 of the St. Regis Venice Exhibition, launching May 2026 and open until late 2027 (TBC).
The exhibition will take place across public areas of the hotel, in sync with the Venice Art Biennale.
The Guest Curator will collaborate with Artelier and the St. Regis Venice team to develop a themed exhibition of international artists.
Set on the Grand Canal, the St. Regis Venice merges historic provenance and strikingly modern interiors - with art as the centrepiece.
Permanent pieces include significant works by Ai Weiwei, Jaume Plensa and Julian Opie. In the next phase of this legacy, the St. Regis Venice is launching a new art programme in collaboration with Artelier.
About the Role
The Guest Curator will develop a themed exhibition, including high-profile names as well as introducing up-and-coming artists.
They will broker artist and gallery loans, manage logistics, prepare curatorial texts, and oversee the installation of a diverse exhibition route across the hotel's public spaces.
They will also participate in the exhibition's event programme and promote it through their professional network.
Support & Compensation
Although the Guest Curator will take the lead on managing all aspects of the exhibition, they will be supported by Artelier and the in-house St. Regis operations teams.
A total fee is offered to cover curatorial fee, and exhibition fees including logistics, installation, and insurance.
Job Requirements Applications are welcomed from practising international curators with significant experience independently organising exhibitions.
A curator who is connected to a gallery may apply. Curators based in Europe and the UK are especially encouraged, and applicants should have experience and existing art networks in Europe.
