Home/Land - an exhibition on home, displacement and refuge. Open to professional artists/photographers and amateurs from Worthing and Sussex.

The Socially Engaged Art Salon [SEAS CIC]  invites artists to submit artworks that delve into the multifaceted themes of home, refugees, migration, displacement, and diasporic sensibilities.

In an era marked by global movement and shifting identities, we seek creative expressions that reflect on the experiences of those uprooted from their homes, whether by choice or necessity.

The works will need to be delivered to Colonnade House Gallery before  8th June or brought to the gallery during  8-9th June. Collection of the work will need to be in person  between 24th and 29th June as we can't send them back.

The exhibition is part of Worthing Festival & Refugee Week [11th -23rd June].

The call is open and free to anybody [18+] who is a Worthing / Sussex resident.

We encourage professional and amateur artists from underrepresented sectors, such as refugees, migrants, BPOC, LGBTQ+, artists with disabilities and artists from working-class backgrounds, to submit work.

If the SEAS funding application is successful, up to five refugee artists will receive £50 in honorarium for their contribution.

Media:

Painting, drawings, collage, photography, illustrations and video.

The work is for sale with no commission taken.

The exhibition will include an opening & artists’ talk.

The exhibition will be promoted on SEAS, Refugee Week, Worthing Festival website and social media.

Only in exception cases will SEAS be able to accept work that is sent by post or digitally.

Notification on selection is expected by 10th May.  Selected artists will be notified by email.
