Paid opportunity
We are looking for children's creative workshop proposals and ideas for paid opportunities in July and August 2026 in Horsforth, Leeds. This opportunity is open to all but please be aware that we cannot pay for travel, sustenance and accommodation. We are happy to take proposals from any art form e.g. Skateboard art, street art, Warhammer painting, Cosplay, Puppetry, digital art, sewing, upcycling, digital art, graphic novels, Manga, Screen Printing, Jewellery, Clay, Watercolour, Typography etc.
This will be an artist-led workshop with support from the Horsforth Arts Society volunteers and a DBS-enhanced member of the Leeds Outer North West council.
We will be running 14 workshops every Friday from the end of July throughout August.
24th July, 31st July, 7th Aug, 14th Aug, 21st Aug and 28th Aug
These will be from 10 am - 12 pm (ages 7 - 11)
1 pm - 3 pm (ages 11 - 14)
A maximum of 12 children in each group
You will be asked to choose which you would prefer in the application.
Please note that the session will take place upstairs (inside) at the Horsforth Arts Society at Back Lane, Horsforth, this is the preferred room but accessible facilities on the ground floor can be provided. Please let us know any requirements in the submission form.
Artist requirements
MUST be engaging, enthusiastic and eager to teach young people your craft/skill.
PREFERABLE - Have taught workshops or classes previously
Payment
This opportunity is being supported by the Outer North West Leeds Council.
We are offering each artist £170 per session plus materials which will be pre agreed.
(All payments have been checked against the artists union rates of pay)
Payment will be made upon invoice being sent and evaluation signed off. PLEASE NOTE: This could take upto 2 months to complete.
Important Information - Due to the recent purdah period, we are still awaiting a final decision about the submitted grant. We will keep you informed if there are any changes.

Timescales
The closing date of this opportunity is the 12TH JUNE 2026. All proposals will be assessed by the ward councillors, Horsforth Arts society and the event manager from belong. to ensure a fair and open process.
The decision will be made based on the Inspiration of the idea, affordability of materials, best fit for the age group chosen and how your idea fits into the overall curated list of arts on offer.
The final decision will then be made within a week, and we will contact everyone with a response by the 19th June 2026.
