Calling out for art concerning community and imagining alternative ways of living .

"As we navigate the red tapes of art galleries and profit-driven institutions: we invite fellow artists, earthlings and those still standing, to pay a sacred homage to our once-green planet earth.

By recording and re-interpreting the trails of our existence, we hope to shed new light on our collected findings and build a discussion about the need for resilient communities.

We welcome you and your creations to take shelter in the open space of Torriano Meeting House: including 2D works, sculpture, and miscellaneous works-in-progress.

We will also welcome artists to submit proposals for workshops, music and theatre performances. 

So come craft yourself a safe space to dwell in our latest exhibition. Find a quiet spot in the ‘Mattress of a Cave’ and take your newest pieces live on stage."

Here with Muddy Mudlarks, is our latest opportunity to unite for a group exhibition at Torriano Meeting House, with workshops and events taking place on 1st, 8th and 29th of November 2025.

**For workshop and performance artists:

Please indicate your availability for an event on either Saturday 1st, 8th November or 29th November.

For workshop organisers, please include ticket prices, a brief description of your event and photos of your previous workshops, to provide us with an idea of what you will be doing.

We don't charge the fee of £20 for workshop artists, but 20% of the ticket sales go towards Torriano and the curation team.

Deadline for this application is 15 October.

Installation: 1st of November, 10:00am-4:30pm

Private view: 1st of November, 5:00pm- 8:00pm

Art In Art Magazine will be collaborating with us in this show and will pick one artist to write an interview + review and showcase on their website.

There is no application fee. If selected to exhibit Mattress of a Cave— Open Call for visual artists or/and sell work at mini art fair, Mattress of a Cave— Open Call for Mini Art Fair there is a fee of £20 to cover cost of venue( workshop artists excluded).

25% of the fees will go directly to Torriano Meeting House in efforts to keep the space running. If you have applied through multiple forms you'll only need to pay this fee once! and we don't charge commission for works sold during the exhibition.
