OPEN CALL - on the theme "Changing Patterns"
Deadline: 01/09/2025Jenna Fox
We are seeking artists and writers for our next online exhibition and publication, themed “Changing Patterns.” This open call invites work that engages with the concepts of whether it is possible to change or adapt ourselves and others, and break free from performativity and the discourse that surrounds us.
Michel Foucault stated that "Power is everywhere", and that we are part of the discourse, influence it and are influenced by it.
If we are entrenched within knowledge systems that affect us from birth, through our schools, institutions, laws, communities and societal 'norms', then is it possible to break free and change our pattern? How much wiggle room do we have if we are intrinsic to the power structures we live within?
For this open call, we are seeking art and writing that explores this concept.
Deadline: 1st September 2025
This open call, for Issue 64, we seek work that:
- Responds to the theme in a lively, thought-provoking way.
- We love innovation and work that excites and challenges.
- Must include a short text to accompany any work that provides the context and why the work fits the theme
- You MUST have an Instagram account
