Open call for Art Exhibition "Origins"
Deadline: 01/05/2026City: London SE11 5RB | Region: London | Country: United Kingdom | Monica Mardare
We invite contemporary artists to participate in a professionally curated group exhibition this August, themed “Origins”, featuring paintings, mixed media, sculptures, standalone installations, and photography.
The exhibition explores the concept of origins in its many forms — personal, cultural, historical, or environmental — inviting artists to reflect on beginnings, roots, and sources of inspiration through their work.
The exhibition provides a carefully organised environment where artists’ work is presented professionally, with space to display each work clearly without overcrowding, ensuring a visually coherent experience.
Participating artists will receive professional photographs and videos of their work and the exhibition, along with a certificate of participation acknowledging their contribution.
The exhibition features a private view with drinks and a live art performance in a renowned, professional gallery, offering an opportunity to engage with art enthusiasts, collectors, and gallerists.
Artists will also benefit from promotion across the curator’s social media platform with over 11,600 followers, and professionally produced printed materials to showcase the exhibition.
Sculptures and standalone installations are actively encouraged, and placement guidance is provided when necessary to ensure each work is displayed appropriately.
The exhibition is curated by an MA Fine Art curator, Monica Mardare, with experience in organising multiple exhibitions in large central London spaces, bringing together award-winning artists from the UK and abroad.
If accepted, a participation fee of £150 will be required.
We will choose two artworks, max 60 x 50 cm each, or one larger work with a maximum dimension of one metre. Sculptures and standalone installations are subject to curatorial approval and must be self-supporting and safe.
You can submit up to 5 artworks in the sizes mentioned above; however, only one or a maximum of two will be accepted, based on those sizes.
However, if you have more work you would like to exhibit, or if you have larger work than 1 metre, please submit and specify or message me so we can discuss options.
The participation fee would then apply accordingly to your required work size.
Applications should include your name, a short bio (max 150 words), images of recent or proposed work, medium and approximate dimensions, and optionally a website or Instagram link.
After confirmation of acceptance, you will receive an email with payment details.
You should complete the payment within 7 days of this; otherwise, the application will be cancelled. Participation fee is not refundable.
You will receive a collaboration agreement and a participation certificate at the end of the exhibition.
Submitted artwork should be for sale. There is a commission applied from sales of 20% to the curator, and the artist will receive 80%.
Application deadline 1st May 2026.
