OPEN CALL: MORE T'NORTH. Exhibition Opportunity for artists based in the North. Are you sick of Northern stereotypes? Do you want the chance to prove there is more to the North than just thick accents and pies? Well, have we got an opportunity for you.

The Harris Young Producers are a group of creatives aged 18-25 who meet weekly at The Harris in Preston, to programme their own exhibitions and events and they are reyt good at it.

They are looking for artists based in the North to exhibit in MORE T'NORTH, a contemporary exhibition showcasing rich Northern talent. The exhibition will be on at the Harris from February to June 2020.

MORE T'NORTH aims to go beyond typical stereotypes and expectations of the North by bringing together a fresh collection of contemporary works which contrast against the historical setting of the Harris.

Criteria for applying:

  • Be based in the North
  • Be aged 18+
  • Work in any medium
  • Be an emerging artist (In the first 10 years of your artistic career)
  • Submit current work made in the last three years

We are not looking for any specific subject matter.

We are looking to select 8-12 artists.

Deadline to apply is Tuesday 7th January 2020 at 12pm.

Selected artists will be informed by Friday 10th January at 5pm.

This is a paid opportunity - fees will be discussed in due course.

The work will be selected by The Harris Young Producers.

The Harris Young Producers is a collaboration between The Harris and Blaze. Blaze is an arts organisation led by young people to develop the next generation of creative producers.
