Call out for a chance to showcase your art/writing in a magazine. For individuals that don't fear to express their emotions.

The second issue, Roots, will be a way to showcase what grounds you away from your screen, show us the real stuff.

Roots is the escape from a world full of endless scrolling and screens.

Slow down, look closely, and ground yourself. Connect with the world around you.

Allow yourself to be present in what’s real. Go outside, show us what roots you.

All types of subjects are welcome. Don't be scared!

We welcome all visual artists and writers to send in work.

Don't be scared to be honest; we welcome all authentic and true ways of self-expression.

If you’re an artist or writer, submit now. Know someone with something to say?

Submissions are open until 1st September 2026. Plenty of time to create and send your work through for viewing.

It is free to submit to Pickled.

The submission window for Issue #2 is one month.

We welcome simultaneous submissions (i.e. work you have also sent elsewhere).

Pickled is a very small magazine. We hope to begin offering payments to writers and artists in later issues.

Artists will be credited, of course!

This can be done whichever way they would like to.

This detail can be discussed if your work is successful.

There will be a couple of featured artists and interviews.

We are marketing this magazine through Instagram and through posters (soon).

Niche is our speciality.

The magazine will be accessed by print only.

If the work is in demand, more will be printed.

This magazine will be pitched to most independent print stores in the north, as that is where we are based.

We will be choosing works based on submissions as a whole, the quality of the works and the subjects that are presented.

We want the magazine to flow and be cohesive, but also range over loads of different subjects.

Don't be disheartened if your work isn't chosen; there will be more opportunities in the future.

We plan on making 100 copies for the first print run of the issue.
