2026 PRISM TEXTILES Application for New Members. PRISM is an international group of exhibiting artists who embrace a contemporary fine art approach while drawing on the rich technical traditions of fibre and stitch.
The group brings together a vibrant community of artists dedicated to exchanging ideas, developing skills and showcasing work at a professional level.
In recognition of the innovation and evolving diversity within textile practice, our membership is open to textile artists worldwide, harnessing new perspectives, techniques and ideas, creating a vibrant, international collective dedicated to pushing the boundaries of textile art.
About Membership
Membership is maintained by successful submission of work for group exhibitions, renewal of annual membership fee and active participation in the life of the group.
Please remember that your commitment as a member will involve not only exhibiting on a regular basis, but also offering the group your time towards administration, publicity, setting up exhibitions, stewarding etc.
There is an annual membership fee which is reviewed annually; for 2026/27 it is set at £130. For each exhibition there is a hanging fee, for our 2027 exhibition at The Art Pavilion, Mile End it is set at £100. PRISM is a self-financing group; the committee aims to keep the costs as low as possible.
To encourage new graduates, we are offering a 50% reduction in fees on both membership and exhibition hanging fees for the first two years of membership, please enquire about eligibility.
The Application Procedure
Applications for membership are submitted through CuratorSpace. You will need to create a free account to make a submission.
- Paying the Submission Fee
An administrative fee of £20 is charged to cover the costs of the application. Payment must be made before submitting your application using the transaction code supplied on the form. All digital payments must have the applicant’s Surname and Initial as a transaction reference. - Submission of Application Form
Completing the Application
There is a submission form to be completed that includes an Artist Statement, CV and images of your work. Please note all fields must be completed before submitting your application.
Artist Statement
Please provide details of your practice and work, processes used in the making of your work, interests, and influences. Also include your reason for wanting to become a member of PRISM and any other supporting information that you feel would enhance this application.(maximum 300 words).

Your CV should be saved as a PDF or Word document.
- Your full name
- Higher Education qualifications | relevant dates | awarding institution
- Artist experience, noteworthy exhibitions, publications and group memberships.

Please enter a link to your website, social media or any other sites that feature your work.
Digital Images of Your Work
- Please submit six images illustrating three pieces of work made in the last five years. We require a full view and a detail of each work.
- Title of the work, date, size, medium, techniques used, and a brief description (max 100 words) must be included with the images showing the complete work.
- Digital images should be high resolution, no larger than 2MB and in .jpg or .png formats only.
- Please name your images in the format: last name_your first name_image number.jpeg
- All images should be good quality, of a professional standard. These images form part of the first stage of selection; please note that poor quality images will reflect badly on your submission.
The Selection Process
A selection panel made up of PRISM members will process all submissions.
Stage 1
The initial selection process will be based on the information and images submitted through your CuratorSpace application.
Stage 2
Those applicants who successfully reach the second stage of selection will be required to submit further information and imagery about a piece of work chosen by the panel for review.
More detailed information will be provided on reaching this stage.

Work should
- be executed to an exceptional standard and demonstrate consistent quality throughout;
- illustrate coherence and clarity of intent, demonstrating informed artistic judgement;
- present a strong visual statement and demonstrate the artist’s originality and innovative approach;
- exhibit a professional approach to practice through the considered use of materials, resources, and techniques, alongside a clear understanding of the processes employed.

The following submission fees apply to this opportunity.
