The biannual Refresh Art Award is now open again for submissions. We're looking for 2D work, sculpture and sound. £3000 prize, London show and promo for all. International entries welcome.

After our lovely first show in 2019 we're glad to be back with the Refresh Art Award in 2021. We are a fully independent art award that was set up as a personal art project in 2017 by two UK artists.

The aim of Refresh is to be a snapshot of contemporary art in a given year. As well as curating a show from a selection of our entries, we also promote everyone who enters. This is across our site, social media and in a few other ad-hoc ways. So hopefully everyone gets a little value from their entry and not only the lucky prizewinners.

There have been a few exciting changes for our second time round, which you can see unfolding on our site over the next 6 months. Due to Covid a /few firm decisions have been put back until Spring but you will still get the chance of a London show in November and the prize fund remains the same. £3000 for the overall winner and two smaller prizes of £300 each. Entry fees have also been held at the same price because we want this to be as financially accessible as possible.

On that note, other great things about Refresh include that we don't personally sell / profit from your work. So we'll be promoting your own sales platforms throughout and get to choose work for the show that we want to give a platform for, rather than commercial looking work we can sell.

Your entered work will need to be available for the show in November, if chosen (and you can choose to make it available for sale then if you want to) but we don't charge commission. You also don't need to have work framed to be in the show as we install differently, so while you might want to do this for protection for fragile pieces, you don't need to.

See our website for more info about this project, and search social media for Refresh Art Award to see the artists we had last time.

To apply please fill out the form - you can use the optional artist's statement to tell us anything you'd like to about yourself. Entries start at £10.00 for one and up to three more for £6.00 each.  If you apply sooner you will get more time for promotion of your work. Don't forget to put things like your website or any sales platforms you use down so we can hopefully drive some interest your way.

We're looking for 2D, sculpture and sound. Check out the gallery of our previous entries and winners on our Pinterest account and you'll see that as well as painting, we are also very keen on printmaking, graphic arts, illustration etc.
