Summer/Winter Photography Exhibition
Deadline: 12/03/2026Solas Shadow
For the gallery's inaugural exhibition, we have taken influence from our gallery's name and have chosen the theme, Summer/Winter.
Solas / Shadow is an online international photography gallery dedicated to showcasing the work of photographers from around the world through engaging, thoughtfully curated exhibitions.
Founded on the belief that powerful photography exists beyond traditional gatekeeping, and with over 10 years experience in both photography and exhibition curation, Solas / Shadow aims to create space for voices that have not always had the opportunity to exhibit their work.
We are particularly committed to supporting emerging and underrepresented photographers, while remaining open to artists at all stages of their practice.
Our exhibitions will explore the polarities of our lives and the world around us.
These themes, shaped by your involvement, will give rise to exhibitions that are engaging, reflective, and thought-provoking.
As we grow, we look forward to expanding our platform and offering more opportunities for photographers.
Solas / Shadow is not just a gallery, but a growing community built on collaboration, inclusion, and a shared passion for photography.
Summer / Winter is an annual polarity that is experienced throughout the world to varying degrees.
The theme can be more than just a shift in temperature or season, it can explore the contrasts such as growth and dormancy, abundance and stillness, vibrancy and quiet.
It reflects changes in landscape and daily life, from long summer days to long winter nights, the contrast between the two can be stark.
Photographers can look at the difference in the physical environments, cultural traditions, and both the subtle and dramatic changes in these seasons.
Photographers are asked to explore this theme however they wish, whether focusing on one aspect or both in their submissions.
Participants will:
- Have their work displayed in an online gallery on our website.
- Receive a digital certificate of participation.
- See their work featured on the gallery's social media.
