Soft Spot exhibition 2020
Deadline: 01/01/2020Venue: PS Mirabel Soft Spot Gallery | City: Manchester | Country: United Kingdom | Jay Mulholland
Soft Spot | Accepting artwork and proposals for exhibition on 6th Jan 2020
Soft Spot is an artist-led space for testing and exchanging insight and ideas, based below Manchester's PS Mirabel Studios.
We are accepting submissions of artwork for our upcoming show in January 2020. We are looking for new media, video, sculpture, 3D, or digital work for our basement gallery space, and for a virtual version of this space that we have created for VRChat. The themes of the show include the future, sci-fi, obsolescence, love, anonymity & internet culture.
2020 is a cliche year to set shiny sci-fi in, although now this fictional year is actually upon us it isn't so shiny or as straight forward as fiction. The work should talk about the now or the future. Or yesterday's or now's concept of future. Or the fading of one into the other. These themes can be understated for some of the works.
We are open to studio visits & dialogue and collaboration between artist and curator.
Accepting submissions until the 1st of January 2020.
We look forward to hearing from you.
