We have an exciting opportunity for sculptors in a very prestigious location, in the heart of London’s historic Mayfair.

About the space and plinths

Brown Hart Gardens is an elevated garden square situated between Bond Street, Oxford Street and Grosvenor Square, moments from Selfridges and surrounded by some of London's finest luxury retail, hospitality and cultural destinations.

These elegant gardens are undergoing an exciting transformation that will further establish them as a vibrant destination for art, culture and community.

Overlooking the gardens is The Beaumont Mayfair, one of London's leading independent luxury hotels.

Renowned for its Art Deco architecture, exceptional hospitality and commitment to celebrating craftsmanship, culture and design, the hotel has become a landmark destination for discerning international travellers and Londoners alike.

Launching within the gardens is Pearl, a brand new, all-day Mediterranean restaurant with expansive outdoor seating that seamlessly connects guests with the surrounding public space.

The selected sculptures will form an integral part of the landscape, creating a dialogue between art and hospitality while becoming a focal point for visitors enjoying the gardens.

Artists are invited to submit proposals for sculptures to be exhibited on one of four permanent plinths positioned at each corner of Brown Hart Gardens.

Four successful works will be selected by an independent committee and displayed as part of a curated outdoor exhibition.

This exhibition aims to establish Brown Hart Gardens as one of central London's premier destinations for contemporary public sculpture, enriching the cultural offering for hotel guests, local residents, businesses and visitors from around the world.

The programme seeks to celebrate artistic excellence, encourage public interaction with contemporary art and provide meaningful opportunities for artists at pivotal stages of their careers.

The Beaumont Mayfair will pay a loan fee of £5,000 per sculpture, recognising the value of the artworks and supporting artists' participation in this prestigious exhibition.

About the Exhibition

The work will be exhibited on the plinths for 12 months, running from November2026 through to November 2027.

Eligibility

This open call is for any artist who makes work suitable for an outdoor setting.

The work must be completed and ready for display - no proposals will be accepted.

The work must be available for the entire exhibition period.

The work must be suitable for outdoor display.

The work must be safe to sit on the plinth without anchors or fixings, or with fixings suitable for a bronze plinth.

The maximum footprint of the work must be 1405 x 805 mm.

What We Are Seeking - We welcome sculptures that:

• Will sit well within this prestigious setting and be sensitive to the listed building and gardens.

• Are of a suitable scale, craftsmanship, and material sensitivity, and are visually and conceptually compelling and inspiring.

• Are durable, weather-resistant, and safe for an unsupervised public environment

Applicants are welcome to submit up to 5 works for consideration and must provide the following:

• Up to 5 primary work images with details, description, and installation requirements
  
  
• The option to add up to 12 additional images to offer different vantage points of the proposed artworks
  
  
• CV and links to your website and other online profiles

• Works must be able to stand safely without deep ground anchors or any  wall anchors
  
  
• We request that the work be completed and in the UK at the time of application.

Support Provided

Exhibiting artists will receive:

Stoneman Collins was founded in April 2025 by art advisors Georgia Stoneman and Lizzie Collins. Stoneman Collins specialises in forming art collections in major build and renovation projects across sectors to deliver a world class visual experience. Georgia and Lizzie bring a meticulous eye together with their 40 years combined art world experience as gallerists and art advisors and a wide network of contacts to offer a seamless, high-level service. 

Working closely with architects, interior designers and private clients, they deliver both large-scale projects and smaller, more site-specific curations. Specialists in modern and contemporary British art, Stoneman Collins carefully craft meaningful collections of art that reflect the individual narrative of each project. 

Lisa Edwards, Curator, Grosvenor

Lisa is an art collection management specialist and has worked with museums, historic houses and private collectors in managing significant cultural collections.

For over ten years she has held the role of Curator at Grosvenor, in which she is responsible for the care and management of the family’s private art collection, working with internationally important paintings, sculptures and other decorative artworks spanning the classical to the contemporary.

Richard Faber, Director of the Beaumont Hotel

Richard Faber is a specialist hospitality investment advisor, with extensive experience across some of the world’s most prestigious luxury hotels. In 2018, Richard founded Spartan Advisors, which advises private investors, family offices and institutional capital on the acquisition, development, asset management and strategic positioning of luxury and super-prime hospitality projects.

Richard’s track record includes involvement with landmark hospitality assets such as The Ritz London, The Beaumont Mayfair, Admiralty Arch, the Six Senses Hotel and Spa at The Whiteley, and the London Marriott Grosvenor Square, where he provides unparalleled insight into the evolving luxury hotel landscape alongside support on strategic development and positioning.

The Selection Committee will assess the shortlisted proposals against artistic quality, visual impact, suitability for the site, technical feasibility and the overall curatorial vision for Brown Hart Gardens, ensuring the selected sculptures respond sensitively to the character and setting of the gardens.
