Structure - Open call exhibition at Cupola Contemporary Art. We are looking for submissions that respond or relate to the title structure. A structure can be a building, a social heir achy, the formation of a sentence and many more besides. Work across media considered. All work must be for sale.

Structure (noun)

• The way in which the parts of a system or object are arranged or organised.
• Something that has been made or built from parts, especially a building.
• An organ or part of an organ that performs a particular function.
• To plan, organise or arrange the parts of something.

Theme

We invite artists to submit work inspired by or responding to the theme Structure.

Structure can be interpreted in countless ways.

It may refer to architecture or the built environment, social hierarchies, language and sentence construction, natural formations, the human body, systems, patterns, processes, or any other interpretation that resonates with your practice.

We welcome imaginative and personal responses across all media.

All submitted work must be for sale.

Submission Guidelines

• Artists may submit up to 4–6 individual works for consideration, or a cohesive collection of functional ware.
• All gift items must be original and handmade.
• Selected works must be clearly labelled and ready for display.
• Artists are responsible for the cost of delivering and collecting their work.
• All selected works must remain available for sale for the duration of the exhibition.
• Selected work must arrive with us no later than Friday 4 September.
• Work does not need to be delivered in person. In-person deliveries are accepted Monday to Friday only. Postal deliveries will be accepted at weekends only.

Commission & Terms

• There is no submission or exhibition fee.
• Standard gallery commission applies: 50% after VAT.
• All sales will be managed by Cupola Contemporary Art.
• Unsold work should be collected by arrangement after the exhibition or returned by post at the artist's expense.

Pricing Your Work

To calculate the retail price of your work, please use the following formula:

Your wholesale price × 2.2 = Retail Price (including VAT)

Example:

Wholesale price: £100
Retail price: £220

This is divided as follows:

£100 to the artist
£100 gallery commission
£20 VAT payable to HMRC
