Fronteer Gallery are looking for small artworks for their exhibition Sun, Moon & Stars
Fronteer Gallery are looking for small artworks for our exhibition Sun, Moon & Stars. Artwork can respond to the theme however they like. Work can be in any medium, except film or audio.
Works should be 35cm x 35cm or less, including any frames and mounts if applicable.
We welcome 3D and sculptural work which should fit on a 30x30cm plinth, and should not exceed 50cm height x 30cm x 30cm.
Work can be framed or unframed. Unframed work should be suitable for hanging using Command Strips.
Artists are invited to submit up to 3 pieces of work for the exhibition. Please complete a separate form for each submission. You may provide a short description of no more than 100 words, but this will not be displayed alongside the work.
UK-based artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit. It is free to apply with only successful artists paying a fee of £28 fee for each piece of work selected.
The exhibition will run from 24th February – 12th March 2026.
There will be a private view on Saturday 21st February 4-6 pm.
Please note, the gallery is upstairs and there is no disabled access.
In return for your fee, you will get a closing event evening with free drinks which you are welcome to bring friends and family along to, invigilation throughout, and promotion of the exhibition online through social media posts.
The submission deadline is 2nd February 2026.
Successful artists will be contacted by 3rd February 2026.
Successful artists are welcome to send their work by post.
Work sent by post should reach us by 12th February 2026 at the latest.
Artists are also welcome to deliver work in person to the gallery during gallery opening hours between 3rd – 12th February 2026. If you have any issues with these dates please contact us before applying as we may be able to help.
Successful artists should pay their hanging fee by 12th February 2026.
Work can be offered for sale during the exhibition, and there is a commission charge of 10%.
Work can be collected from the gallery during the next exhibition, between 24th March – 9th April 2026 during gallery opening hours.
If you would like your work returning to you by post please be aware that we charge a fee which includes a £4 handling fee and the cost of Tracked 48 (no signature required) postage. Larger parcels can be returned through Parcelforce and will be sent Express 48. Couriers cannot collect your work from the gallery and we do not print postage labels.
All work must be complete at the time of submission. Any work which varies from the original piece or size (size includes framed size of the work if applicable) submitted may be rejected. If you wish to submit any form of print, it will be your responsibility to print it off and prepare it for exhibition before delivering it to us.

ABOUT FRONTEER
Fronteer are a husband and wife artist led initiative who created exhibition opportunities for artists. In 2020 we opened our gallery, moving in 2022 to our current location in Orchard Square, Sheffield city centre. The gallery has 2 exhibition spaces.
We receive hundreds of visitors during an exhibition and would typically expect over 300 visitors during a 3 week exhibition. Our private view events can attract up to 100+ visitors.
We have 2 Instagram accounts to share images of artists' work and news about the gallery. @fronteer_art has over 4000 followers and @fronteer gallery has over 5000 followers. Instagram is our main social media platform but we also share posts on Facebook, YouTube and Threads.
